Personal Care Assistants :
part-time, 6 hrs/day, starting the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year. Positions are open at Springfield Elementary, Middle School/High School, and Tinicum Elementary. Each successful candidate will support students in the classroom, both in individual and small group settings, while providing: 1) direct assistance with toileting needs of an individual, including proper cleaning and follows universal precautions for disposal of material as a result of the process; 2) provide physical assistance to help students ambulate from one location to another, including lifting and transferring; 3) provide reinforcement for academic skill-acquisition, life skills acquisition, and/or behavior reduction programs and strategies; 4) collect baseline data regarding occurrence and nonoccurrence of behaviors; and/or 5) provide direct support in de-escalation relative to student behaviors including verbal de-escalation, supportive measures and/or restraints. Hourly rate is $25.40/hr, after a successful probationary period, as per the PESPA contract, no health benefits with this position. Applicants must have strong technology skills, be highly qualified as defined by federal standards, which require either two completed years of study at an institution of higher education, an associate's (or higher) degree, or PDE Highly Qualified certification.
