Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities (ID). The ideal candidate will assist clients in skill acquisition, daily activities, and socially significant behavior change plans. They will promote independence, ensure autonomy, and improve the quality of life of their client. This role requires a commitment to compassionate patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals. Responsibilities Assist clients in the community through transportation and social integration. Provide companionship and encourage client participation in social activities. Observe and document client behaviors and progress. Record client changes and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel. Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) tailored to each client's needs. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Maintain confidentiality for clients, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with the support team and family to ensure comprehensive care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant college education preferred. Previous experience in long-term care, home care, dementia care, direct support, social work, special education, mental health, or other related field preferred. Comprehension of data collection methods and the ability to recognize and document changes in client conditions or behaviors. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Communication skills, compassion, patience, and adaptability are required. Pay:
$16.50 - $22.00 per hour
