Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will foster a safe, supportive environment by assisting residents with daily activities, monitoring their well-being, and promoting independence. Your dedication will help improve quality of life and empower individuals to thrive in a caring community setting. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through active support and compassionate caregiving. This is a general role. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 CPS services in the community and home settings Support participation in: Community outings (stores, libraries, recreation) Social and recreational activities Volunteer or pre-employment experiences Assist with: Communication and social skills Money management and daily living skills Maintain accurate daily documentation and progress notes (ODP compliant) Follow the individual's ISP (Individual Support Plan) Ensure safety, dignity, and respect at all times Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are advantageous Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, team members, and healthcare providers Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting diverse populations including seniors and individuals with complex health needs Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed Must be 18 years or older High School Diploma or GED required Valid driver's license + reliable transportation (REQUIRED) Willingness to transport individual in personal vehicle Mileage reimbursement provided Ability to pass: Criminal background check (PA State Police) Child Abuse Clearance FBI Fingerprinting (if applicable) Completion of required ODP trainings, including: Direct Support Professional Orientation CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain) Incident Management training Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism Experience providing CPS or community-based services Patient, engaging, and self-motivated personality Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every individual receives personalized care that respects their dignity. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
