Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) help provide supervision and support to clients in our residential group home setting. We offer ongoing education, experiences and a supportive staff that emphasizes the individual's role in making choices to give them greater control of the direction of their life. You can be a part of a making a positive impact on their lives each day you come to work. You would provide hands-on, person-centered individualized care and support for our residents. DSPs/Residential Behavior Specialists work with a supportive team that includes the Residential Manager, Residential Assistant Manager, other DSPs and more to support up to six male residents in the home. Experience and Skills Needed:
Minimum of 2 years of experience required working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities
Education Requirement :
Either; High School diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent with 4+ years of experience working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities OR; Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field with 2+ years of experience working with individuals who have autism and developmental disabilities Must be able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently Ability to speak, see & hear clearly/audibly, as well as write legibly for documentation Basic computer skills Professional and respectful communication skills with clients and their families or other parties Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral inventions including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in personal vehicle or company van General responsibilities as assigned such as house cleaning, assistance with toileting/showering, job coaching, role modeling, etc. Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, reach and/or move regularly Valid driver's license for at least 3 years, with a registered and insured vehicle CPR/First Aid Certification (We provide training if needed) Pro-ACT Certification (We provide training if needed) Medication Administration Training (We provide training)
