Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral forms; knowledge of developmental disabilities, knowledge of training programs, ability to work effectively with staff, consumers and families. Must be able to perform physical and visual skills as listed: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Successful completion of orientation program.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate and three(3) years work experience. Valid South Carolina driver's license and good driving record.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Set up the workshop for work activities daily b. Assist individual(s) with personal care (toilet needs, hand washing, grooming and feeding) c. Performs necessary care/training for individual(s) and maintain a clean, safe environment for each, e.g. assists with personal hygiene, ensures clean environment and reports any problems which ma endanger worker's welfare d. Assist in the workshop keeping the individual(s) on task, following schedule and training program e. Participates in Program Development Team Process, e.g. assist with assessment, give written or verbal input on Single Plan and CTM and attend meetings in absence of Workshop Leaders. f. Assist in the workshop e.g. recording required data for monitoring sheets and BSP g. Assist in the workshop with maintaining documentation for individual(s) program plans (Daily Productions Sheets) h. Assist in workshop as directed by Workshop Leader i. Attends training as required j. Substitute on vans as needed k.
