Responsibilities Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity. Monitor patients closely by observing their physical and emotional states, documenting vital signs, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals. Support medication reminders and help implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and specific health requirements. Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely to assist with transfers and mobility needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Engage children in therapeutic activities, social interactions, and play that promote development and socialization within home or community settings. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living, group homes, or home health care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care plan implementation. Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and hospice or dementia care are advantageous. Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts involving standing, walking, or assisting with mobility. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, healthcare teams, and other caregivers.
