This position involves working closely with clients to enhance their daily living skills, promote independence, and ensure their overall well-being. The DSP will engage in various activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and social interaction, while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility. Provide support in meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Facilitate social interactions and community engagement to promote social skills and inclusion. Implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each client. Monitor and document clients' progress, behaviors, and any changes in condition. Assist with medication management as required. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols. Skills Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Proficiency in meal preparation and cooking skills tailored for diverse dietary requirements. Ability to lift clients safely as needed for mobility assistance. Familiarity with social work principles to effectively support clients' emotional needs. Certification in CPR is required and training provided to ensure client safety in emergencies. Experience in dementia care is a plus, providing specialized support for clients with cognitive impairments.
