Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring their safety and comfort. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following prescribed protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Facilitate patient transfers using manual handling techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safety during movement. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards. Provide emotional support and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care planning. Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation; familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential.
