Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, dementia, and other health conditions. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, respectful environment. Your energy and positive attitude will help create a nurturing atmosphere where individuals can thrive and achieve their personal goals. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social engagement Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties within resident living areas and common spaces Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive community atmosphere Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and infection control procedures to ensure resident well-being at all times Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, hospice care or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is beneficial Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient monitoring equipment as needed Strong communication skills with the ability to observe patient behaviors carefully and document accurately Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others are essential qualities for success in this role Join us as a Direct Support Professional and become an integral part of a team dedicated to empowering individuals through compassionate care.
