Direct Support Professional (DSP) Home in the Heart Healthcare Agency Memphis, TN Job Details Part-time | Full-time | PRN $16 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Direct Support Professional (DSP) Home at Heart Group Living,INC Memphis, TN Position Summary Home at the Heart Group Living is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide quality care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). DSPs assist individuals in achieving greater independence, community inclusion, personal growth, and a high quality of life in a residential setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation. Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills. Assist with medication reminders and medication administration as trained and authorized. Provide transportation and community integration activities as assigned. Support individuals in participating in recreational, social, educational, and vocational activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy living environment. Complete required documentation, daily notes, incident reports, and service records accurately and timely. Follow individualized support plans and behavioral support plans. Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, healthcare professionals, and support team members. Maintain confidentiality and protect the rights and dignity of all individuals served. Attend required trainings and staff meetings. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to pass background checks and required screenings. CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (training may be provided). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist individuals as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
