In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful, and individualized care to residents in various settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity Monitor patient health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly Help with meal preparation and feeding, accommodating special dietary needs for individuals with conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's disease Use manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe mobility for residents Maintain cleanliness of residents' living spaces through light cleaning tasks and proper sanitation practices Observe and document changes in residents' condition or behavior, communicating effectively with healthcare teams and family members Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred but not required Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately Experience providing dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or working with individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities preferred but not required Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, and patient personal care assistance Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to hospice care or home & community care are a plus Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation of care activities Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans and protocols Join us as a Personal Care Assistant if you're passionate about providing compassionate support that empowers individuals to live their best lives.
