Patient Care Assistant Enchanted Hearts Personal Care Home College Station, TX 77845 $12.00 - $13.50 an hour - Full-time $12.00 - $13.50 an hour - Full-time Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Care Assistant, where your compassionate nature and proactive approach will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. In this vital role, you will support clinical staff by providing direct patient care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for diverse patient populations. Whether working in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or specialized trauma centers, your dedication will help facilitate efficient care delivery and enhance patient experiences across various medical settings. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor patient conditions by observing vital signs, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff, and documenting observations accurately. Support clinical teams during procedures and treatments by preparing equipment and ensuring a sterile environment. Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure needs are addressed promptly and effectively. Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation within the facility to optimize care flow. Contribute to post-acute care efforts by supporting discharge planning and patient education when appropriate. Requirements Prior experience in Level II trauma centers or hospital medicine environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and experience working within Level I Trauma Centers or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) settings is advantageous. Experience in medical-surgical units, geriatrics, outpatient clinics, or sub-acute care enhances your suitability for this role. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in inpatient settings with teaching hospital exposure is desirable. Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to follow detailed instructions are essential. Certification or training in basic life support (BLS) or advanced patient care techniques is a plus. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed in fast-paced environments such as ORs or emergency departments.
