LMS Concepts, Inc, established 1991, is a certified long-term care provider that owns and operates Group Homes in southside Corpus Christi, TX for individuals who need daily support due to an intellectual or developmental disability. These homes, both ICF and HCS certified facilities promoting independent living, are licensed and regulated by the State of Texas. We have part-time and full-time positions available. If you are enrolled in college, then we will work to accommodate your schedule. Working as an aide in one of our homes will provide valuable experience for Psychology, Nursing, Special Education, and Sociology students in particular. Our homes are located conveniently to TAMU-CC and Del Mar College.

Job Description :

To compassionately assist individuals in a home-like environment and give support to the individuals we serve in accordance with an established care plan. Assist the individuals in attaining and maintaining independent living skills in a safe and clean work environment. The individual must be comfortable working with special needs.

Responsibilities :

Performs a variety of tasks helping an individual to complete his/her individual goals and supervising/facilitating activities inside and outside of the facility. No lifting required. Transport individuals to the DayHab Program and for weekend activities.

Personal Care:

Assist with daily living skills as needed (hygiene, chores, etc.) Train individuals in preparation of meals. Ensure meds are taken correctly by resident. Ensure proper documentation is completed. Ensures the safety of residents at all times. Effectively intervenes in crises/emergency situation as it pertains to an individual's behavior or in the event of a fire or other disaster. Confer with management to resolve individual's behavioral and medical problems.

Education/Experience :

High School diploma or equivalent. CNA experience preferred but not required. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
