Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of resident rights and patient care, ensuring that each individual receives personalized attention in accordance with their care plans. This role requires effective communication skills, a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment, and the ability to assist with various daily living activities. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Support the implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition. Maintain a clean and organized living space for residents, adhering to health and safety standards. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive environment. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of residents during transfers or mobility assistance. Document daily activities, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions as required. Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to ensure comprehensive care for all residents. Qualifications Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of resident rights and patient care principles is essential. Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately. Certification in First Aid is a plus; training will be provided if not certified. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
