Job Description
Overview Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in an in-home care setting, where your dedication makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Whether you're experienced in senior care, disability support, or specialized memory care, your skills will help create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for every individual. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for changes in condition or behavior Support medication management and administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents or changes in condition Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment Support clients during outings or appointments through personal transportation assistance Follow all safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, manual handling procedures, and emergency response plans Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities support Knowledge of assisted living environments, nursing homes, hospice care, home health services, and geriatrics Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately Ability to assist with complex transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with clients and their families while respecting privacy laws such as HIPAA Experience working with residents' care plans and medication administration protocols Competence in providing personal transportation assistance safely and responsibly Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining proper manual handling techniques Knowledge of infection control practices including cleaning routines to ensure a hygienic environment Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly valued This rewarding role is ideal for motivated caregivers eager to make a positive impact through dedicated service.
