Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their daily needs are met and promoting their independence. Your work will have a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. Duties Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide support in navigating social interactions and community engagement. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's unique needs and preferences. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safety and comfort. Monitor and document progress, reporting any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel. Foster a positive environment that encourages independence while providing necessary support. Engage in recreational activities that promote physical and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all individuals in your care. Qualifications Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred, particularly in assisted living or home health settings. Knowledge of first aid practices is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the individuals supported. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. A compassionate attitude towards providing care for seniors or individuals needing assistance in nursing homes or similar environments.
