This vital role involves providing high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, cognitive impairments, or age-related needs in residential, community, or home care settings. As a Direct Support Professional, you will empower clients to achieve their independence and enhance their quality of life through attentive caregiving, engaging activities, and respectful communication. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately Provide compassionate care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques Support clients during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition planning to promote healthy living Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both clients and staff Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry Engage clients in social activities and therapeutic exercises to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being Uphold residents' rights by respecting privacy, dignity, and individual preferences at all times Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and memory care techniques Ability to perform standard passenger car operation safely for client transportation needs Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is required or willing to obtain upon hire Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility tasks throughout the shift Familiarity with medication administration protocols and resident's rights regulations Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care Join us in creating a positive impact on the lives of those we serve!
