Sat/Sun 8am-8pm $22.00 per hour & 8pm-8am $19.00 per hour All positions and employees are vital to the operation of SPAG, however; Residential Direct Support Professionals are in the unique and important role of providing for the everyday needs of the youth in the care of SPAG. It is this position that has the greatest potential to form trusting relationships with the youth and make a lasting impact on their ability to trust, engage in healthy relationships, and provide for the needs of their own children. This position requires a person to be at least 21 years of age and have a high school degree or GED equivalence. It is preferred that caregivers have previous experience working in a residential setting or other related job experience including 2 years work experience with adolescents within the last 10 years. The direct care position involves caring for foster youth with severe intellectual and developmental delays in a residential treatment center (RTC) setting. The youth we serve are mostly nonverbal. Youth often exhibit severe behaviors related to traumatic experiences. Behaviors can include some aggression, feces play, sensory issues and self-injurious behaviors. Staff are expected to utilize all training that will be provided including Handle with Care (HWC) for behavior modification.Responsibilities Include:
Changing diapers for all incontinent youth Taking care of youths hygiene including bathing & brushing teeth Cleaning, cooking, and laundry on specific shifts Attending community activities with youth when scheduled Maintaining daily progress notes for youth assigned Medication administration (will be trained) Following the daily schedule as placed by the LCCA Completing all daily check lists as it pertains to the home and the care of our youth Maintain daily progress notes for each youth in their care to include their signature, date, and time the note was completed.Job Type:
