Full Job Description Position Summary:
A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides compassionate, non-medical care and assistance to clients in their homes or care facilities. The PCA helps clients maintain their independence, safety, and quality of life by assisting with daily living activities and providing companionship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including: Bathing Dressing Grooming Toileting Mobility and transfers Provide companionship and emotional support Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed Perform light housekeeping duties, including: Laundry Dishwashing Sweeping and mopping Changing bed linens Remind clients to take medications as directed Assist with errands and grocery shopping Monitor and report changes in the client's condition to the supervisor or nurse Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients Document care provided according to agency policies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred Previous caregiving or healthcare experience preferred Current CPR certification preferred Ability to communicate effectively and professionally Compassionate, dependable, and patient demeanor Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients safely Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
Clear Background Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25-50 pounds Ability to assist clients with mobility and transfers Ability to work in various home environments
Work Environment:
Client homes, assisted living facilities, or private residences Flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
