Seasonal (June 1-August 20) Job Description A Direct Care Staff position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are seeking a career in healthcare, social services, or human services. The primary responsibility of a Direct Care Staff is to provide direct care and support to clients, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall quality of life. The role may involve working with individuals with disabilities, mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or those who are elderly or medically fragile. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks: Providing direct care and support to clients, which may include assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Monitoring clients' physical and emotional well-being and reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising staff. Developing and implementing individualized care plans based on clients' needs and goals. Engaging clients in meaningful activities and promoting their independence and social skills. Maintaining a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring that living spaces and common areas are well-maintained and free from hazards. Documenting client progress, service provision, and any incidents or concerns in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Collaborating with other staff members, including supervisors, to ensure effective communication and coordination of client care. Participating in ongoing professional development and training to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the direct care field. Qualifications and Skills Required To be successful in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills: The schedule will be daily from 8:30 AM -3 PM High school diploma or GED At least 18 years of age Must have the ability to pass a background check Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required, depending on the specific job duties.
