Then this could be a position for you. We are a highly respected ophthalmology practice in Blacksburg, VA. We have a wonderful team some of whom moving on to professional schools such as medical school, optometry and PA programs which has created an opening. Further, we have been growing since we started every year and are looking for good staff to help us continue to deliver great eye care to our patients and to grow the practice. The work setting is friendly, team-oriented and cordial. We enjoy long-term relationships with our patients and their families. Maintaining a safe work place is very important to us and therefore we require measure to prevent spread of infection to our staff or patients. We take pride in serving our patients and treat them the way we want our loved ones are treated. We offer potential for growth with the growth of practice. We are looking for someone who will be proactive and interested in learning. For the right person, we will be happy to provide on the job training.
Who is a good candidate:
We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills, enjoys a fast-paced work setting and who is able to easily multi-task in a team setting. The individual needs to be professional and compassionate, mature, genuine, reliable, organized, positive, and a team-player and enjoys taking care of patients. Prior work in in eye care setting is a very much desirable but not necessary. Having a clean background check and references are required. Enthusiasm in learning, excellent computer and English skills, ability to be flexible and learn new skills are needed for success. We hire applicants who live within 30 minutes driving distance from the office. Ability to learn fast, move easily between rooms and testing stations for the duration of the shift, changing position frequently, good corrected vision and ability to keep pace and communicate safely and reliable with patients and the team at our usual pace, perform the diagnostics tests, fast typing, and reliability in being at work when scheduled are needed. Having a big smile, excellent customer service, great communication skills, and being an excellent team-player is a must.

Entering documentation into electronic medical records system (scribing) Performing diagnostic testing Helping to arrange for surgeries Collect patient histories and enter them into medical records Following up on patient labs and test results Scheduling patients Registering patients and collecting payments as needed from time to time Help deliver the best care possible to our patients Help with some administrative tasks Following up on patient labs and test results Help the team with what is needed
Pay:
$14.00 - $22.00 per hour
