Direct Support Professional

This position entails providing patient care, program support services and assisting client's in various community outings within the residential group home setting responsible for completing daily and monthly program documentation. Prior knowledge of and/or education regarding working with people who have Intellectual Disabilities is essential but not mandatory.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist client's with activities of daily living
• Provides client support and encouragement
• Participate in service trainings
• Communicates appropriately with clients, staff and community affiliations
• Maintains documentation in compliance with all licensing agencies
• Performs assigned maintenance and cleaning task
• Performs crisis intervention as needed
• Medication Management
• Transport clients as needed
• MANDT-Training re: behavior management
• May involve lifting
• Physical interventions
• Assistance with self-care of individuals (e.g. bathing, dressing)
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a valid Virginia's driver's license
