Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, home health, and community care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive caregiving, patient observation, and assistance with daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring personalized support and care. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration and ensure adherence to prescribed care plans. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including meal planning and cooking. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and provide safe transfer assistance for residents with mobility challenges. Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Skills Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or nursing home environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills including CPR and first aid certification. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Experience in creating and following personalized care plans while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards such as hospice or long-term care protocols. Pay:
$12.77 - $13.00 per hour
