Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in a vibrant group home environment! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they live fulfilling, independent lives. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a warm, safe, and engaging atmosphere where residents thrive. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing valuable skills in caregiving, behavior management, and community support. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity. Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols to ensure residents' health and safety. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status. Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management tailored to individual needs. Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to foster social skills and community involvement. Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for health updates and incident reports. Implement behavior management strategies to support residents with dementia or behavioral challenges, including Alzheimer's and memory care needs. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is essential. Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are required; additional training in medication administration or Hoyer lift operation is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, and families.
