PCA Personal Care Assistant/CNA

Horizons Healthcare Services is currently looking for PCA-Personal Care Assistant or CNA-Certified Nursing Assistant. We are Clinicians owned Home Health Agency, based on Northern Virginia. A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for ensuring the quality and safe delivery of home care services in accordance with Agency philosophy and established standards of primary home care. The primary role of a PCA includes but is not limited to; providing personal assistance services to clients in their place of residence; providing a safe and clean environment; work cooperatively with clients and their families; and report observations and problems to the supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):

• Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using a bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, shaving, skin, and hair)
• Ambulation/Transfers
• Eating
• Dressing/Shaving
• Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments.
• Performs housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathroom. Performs patient-specific activities that are prescribed by a Horizons Healthcare Nurse. These could include (but are not limited to):
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises
• Measuring and preparing special diets
• Understanding dementia care.

Job Types:

Full-time, Part-time Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
