Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, support daily living activities, and promote independence for residents across various care settings. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility support Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support residents during transfers using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs Engage in patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, especially for those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or neurodevelopmental disorders Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer's care, and hospice care practices Ability to monitor patients' vital signs and recognize emergency situations requiring first aid or CPR intervention Familiarity with medication administration procedures and care plans development Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, patient transfers, manual handling tasks, and assist with mobility needs Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided Join us as a Direct Support Professional and become part of a dedicated team committed to enriching lives through compassionate care.
