Full Job Description Introduction:
We are seeking experienced Direct Support Personnel to provide specialized care and support for clients exhibiting Tier 3 and 4 behaviors. Candidates must have a strong background working with this population, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and promote positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to the specific needs and behaviors of each client.
  • Utilize advanced behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients.
  • Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and incidents with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with clients to foster cooperation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess client needs, implement strategies, and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as necessary to ensure client and staff safety.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to behavioral support and care for Tier 3 and 4 populations.
Requirements:
Experience in managing clients with aggressive behaviors. Ability to implement a variety of behavior support plans tailored to client needs.
Strong physical endurance:
must be able to push, pull, lift up to 75 lbs., and stand for up to 3 hours at a time. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail for effective data collection and reporting. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff. Availability to attend and participate in monthly team meetings.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with clients exhibiting Tier 3 and 4 behaviors.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques specific to this population.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to person-centered care and respect for client dignity.
