Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in long-term private homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to resident rights and the ability to foster a nurturing atmosphere while assisting clients with daily activities. This role requires a blend of caregiving skills, social work understanding, and the ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents. Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to enhance their quality of life. Lift and transfer residents as needed while adhering to safety protocols. Drive residents to appointments or social outings when necessary. Document care provided and report any changes in resident conditions to the appropriate staff members. Uphold resident rights and maintain confidentiality at all times. Requirements Previous experience in caregiving or assisted living environments is preferred. Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for clients effectively. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and assist residents in mobility tasks. A commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization within the living space.
