Job Description

Job Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful, and personalized assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in a home setting, assisted living facility, or group home environment, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, ensuring each individual receives the highest quality of care. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and proper infection control practices Observe and document patient conditions, behaviors, and progress to update care plans accurately Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation or anxiety for residents with dementia or developmental disabilities Follow emergency procedures including CPR and first aid protocols when necessary to ensure safety at all times Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, autism support, and hospice care is advantageous Valid certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Experience with patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and developing or following care plans is essential Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involving mobility assistance or transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment Strong communication skills for working effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care for all residents Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed Join us in delivering exceptional caregiving that enriches lives!
