Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, home health environments, and community-based programs. This vital role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in compliance with healthcare standards Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to implement comprehensive care plans Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities as needed Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are a plus Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Strong communication skills and compassionate approach to caregiving Valid driver's license may be required for transportation duties Join our team and become a vital part of a caring community dedicated to improving lives through dedicated support.
