Job Description

Shared Living Providers (SLPs) welcome adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities into their homes and provide the support they need to live safely, independently and as part of their community. As an SLP, you will serve as the individual's primary caregiver, helping with daily living needs, providing transportation and offering personalized support based on your client's goals and needs.

Training and Support:

UCS provides ongoing guidance, training and support to help SLPs feel confident and comfortable in their roles and to meet the needs and goals of individuals in their care. An SLP must own or rent a house or apartment where they and the individual can live together in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. SLPs receive tax-free stipends and room and board payments for each individual they support. Stipend amounts depend on client needs and are set by the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL). Interested in becoming a Shared Living Provider? Apply today.
