Join the Eastshore Humane Team Eastshore Humane Association is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and dedicated Part-Time Animal Care Assistant to join our shelter team. This position is perfect for someone who loves animals, values routine, and is committed to showing up every weekend to make a real difference in the lives of shelter pets. Position Overview As a Part-Time Animal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, comfort, and well-being of animals in our care. Weekend staff are essential to daily operations, providing consistent care, cleanliness, and enrichment when animals need it most. This is a hands-on, physically active role that requires dependability, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals. Key Responsibilities Provide daily care for shelter animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall health and behavior Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, litter boxes, dishes, laundry, and common animal areas Assist with animal enrichment, socialization, and basic handling Observe animals for signs of illness, stress, or injury and report concerns to supervisors Follow shelter protocols for safety, cleaning, disease prevention, and animal handling Assist with general shelter upkeep and organization as needed Work as part of a team to maintain a calm, caring, and compassionate environment for animals and visitors

Schedule & Commitment Every Saturday:

8:00am-4:00pm

Every Sunday:

8:00am-4:00pm This is a permanent weekend position Must be able to reliably attend both days, every weekend Requirements Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods Comfortable working around animals of all sizes, temperaments, and medical needs Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Animal care experience is preferred , but we are happy to train the right candidate who shows compassion, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
