Caregiver - Adult Family Home (CBRF Certified)
Altruistic Adult Family Home Location:
Manitowoc, WI Shift:
8:00 AM - 8:00 PM | Three (3) Days Per Week & Every Other Weekend Altruistic Adult Family Home is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Caregiver to join our dedicated care team. We provide a safe, supportive, and family-like environment where residents receive quality care centered around dignity, respect, compassion, and independence. As a Caregiver , you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for residents, clients, or patients by offering attentive, respectful, and professional care in various settings including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home care environments. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through your caregiving expertise and genuine compassion. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs and understand the importance of patience, empathy, and providing person-centered support.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate daily care and supervision to residents in an Adult Family Home setting Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and daily routines Support residents with behavioral health challenges using patience, understanding, and positive communication techniques Monitor residents' emotional and physical well-being and report changes as needed Administer medications according to CBRF training guidelines and facility procedures Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and comfortable home environment Encourage independence, community involvement, and positive social interaction Follow individualized care plans and complete required documentation Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents
Qualifications:
Current CBRF Certification required Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid , and medication administration training are preferred Experience working with behavioral health clientele in a previous Adult Family Home (AFH), group home, mental health, assisted living, or in-home caregiving Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease Understanding of resident rights, confidentiality, and professional boundaries Ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging situations Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing exceptional care Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively Valid driver's license for driving duties related to client transportation (if applicable) Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team focused on resident-centered care
Schedule:
12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Three (3) days per week Every other weekend required Why Work at Altruistic Adult Family Home?
