Our comprehensive offerings include direct care, nursing, behavior support, case management, respite, and in-home services, all aimed at empowering our clients to live fulfilling lives. Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Direct Support Professional who is fluent in sign language to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will deliver personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with communication challenges such as hearing impairments or speech delays. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster independence, safety, and well-being for the people we serve. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort through personalized care plans. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Communicate effectively using sign language to facilitate meaningful interactions and enhance understanding for clients who are deaf or hard of hearing. Monitor vital signs and administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Support clients during meal preparation, household chores, and community outings such as driving or attending appointments. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for those experiencing dementia or memory care challenges. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to health and safety standards. Requirements Fluent in sign language with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients who use sign language as their primary mode of communication. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings preferred. Knowledge of caregiving practices including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures such as first aid. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory care needs. Valid driver's license and clean driving record for transportation duties when required. Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills; able to handle challenging behaviors professionally. Join us in making a meaningful difference! Pay:
$13.25 - $13.50 per hour
