  • Full-time Lake Martin Community Hospital is looking for a Night Shift Full Time Medical Lab Technician/Scientist.
Pay is to be determined based off experience
JOB SUMMARY
Provides quality laboratory test results for inpatient and outpatient customers according to established policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs waived and nonwaived diagnostic laboratory procedures. Calibrates, standardizes, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots various instruments following established procedures. Performs quality control to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents, and procedures. Recognizes instrument malfunctions or out-of-control test results and takes appropriate corrective action. Responsible for all documentation required for the tasks performed. Adheres to infection control and safety practices according to policies and procedures. Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation. Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook Understands and participates in all aspects of clinical laboratory testing: pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical. Must maintain positive relationships with coworkers and colleagues. May be required to work Holidays as requested.
EDUCATION
Associate's degree from an accredited Medical laboratory Technician program OR, graduate/undergraduate degree from an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science program OR, graduate/ undergraduate degree in biological sciences field with > 1 year experience in a CLIA accredited clinical laboratory. Work experience may not substitute education requirement.
EXPERIENCE
PCR experience preferred. Experience in a clinical lab setting required. Phlebotomy experience required.
CERTIFICATION
MLT/MLS certification is required.
