A Medical Laboratory Technician helps with the performance of laboratory tests in toxicology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories, which provide information for medical patient diagnosis and treatment. Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment, makes observations, and calculates and records results; receives, types, tests, and records blood bank inventories.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the laboratory director, the Medical Technologist performs laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established hospital and departmental procedures.

Under the general supervision of the laboratory director, the Medical Technologist performs laboratory procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established hospital and departmental procedures.
Education:
Associates Degree from an accredited MLT program. Mathematical, verbal, and working skills at the College level (2 years). MLT certification preferred but not required.
Experience:
Experience in a hospital setting preferred. Excellent customer relation skills.
Licenses/Certificates:
ASCP or AMT certification preferred but not required .
