Laboratory TechnicianLocation:
Theodore, AL Schedule:
5:00 AM-5:00 PM, 12-hour rotating day shifts, 2/3/3/2 rotation Benefits offered, accrued PTO & holiday pay Sirius Staffing is hiring a Laboratory Technician for a long-term contract-to-possible direct opportunity in Theodore, Alabama. This position performs routine analytical testing, laboratory instrumentation maintenance and calibration, environmental testing, and data documentation while supporting production and engineering teams. This position requires frequent use of a company watercraft to collect samples. The selected candidate must obtain and maintain watercraft certification and demonstrate safe operation and maintenance of the watercraft and associated analytical instruments. ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and document routine production and on-site customer samples.

Interpret and communicate analytical results to production and engineering teams.

Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory, inline, portable, and handheld instruments using references and standards.

Enter analytical data into spreadsheets and SAP.Follow written SOPs and assist with maintaining ISO documentation and current training procedures.

Coordinate, set up, and perform Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) testing on vertebrate and invertebrate species as required.

Maintain laboratory supplies and the dry storeroom.

Maintain a clean and safe work area and participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist with on-the-job training for new technicians.

Maintain DMRQ certificationAttend safety meetings and comply with site EHSSQ requirements.

Provide PTO coverage for other shift technicians as part of the rotating schedule. RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentLaboratory or analytical testing experience.

Experience with laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and validation.

Ability to accurately document, interpret, and communicate analytical results.

Computer proficiency, including spreadsheets and data entry; SAP experience preferred.

Ability to work a 12-hour rotating day-shift schedule.

Ability to obtain and maintain watercraft certification Ability to safely operate and maintain company watercraft and associated analytical instruments.
