Summary:
Medical Tech. provide information for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures and analysis with little or no supervision. The med. Technologist's job includes preparing the sample for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated test simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the physician to utilize the data when making treatment decision Other information: BS or associate's degree in Medical Technology or in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor's degree with a certificate in Medical Technology from a nationally accredited program. (2) National Registry for Medical Technology (ASCP) or equivalent or registry eligible. Must successfully complete or be actively pursuing registration by end of first year of employment as evidenced by notification of scheduled test date. (3) Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis interpretation and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures. Must be able to effectively present, gat5hered data orally or in writing to management or regulatory agencies. This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
