BASIC FUNCTION

Performs laboratory testing to analyze the chemical and physical characteristics of solid, liquid, and gaseous materials for quality and process control and compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in science, chemistry, or related field preferred. 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must obtain the Class IV Plant Operator's License within the required time limit, as required by the Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), and maintain its currency. Must have a valid Arkansas Driver's License and be approved by the Corporation's insurance provider for insurance coverage.

OTHER:

Ability to work shift work, weekends, and holidays, and to work effectively in an unsupervised environment. Regular use of highly complex machines and equipment; specialized or advanced software programs. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to flammables, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and industrial and domestic sewage. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
