Job Description
Summary The Lab Assistant performs venipuncture, electrocardiograms, and specimen processing, including waived/moderate testing. They work as part of a care team, assisting physicians and engaging in continuous quality improvement practices within a Patient Centered Medical Home model of care. The ideal candidate will have specimen processing experience, but it is not required. Applicants need to be reliable and punctual and have the ability to work independently or part of a team. Perform venipuncture on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Conduct electrocardiograms Execute waived/moderate lab tests and maintain quality control records Utilize electronic medical records for in-house and send-out lab testing Prepare specimens for transport, including centrifugation and aliquoting Maintain logs and records of patient test results Understand and communicate medical terminology Attend health fairs and special events for EAFHC advancement Participate in monthly clinical staff meetings and quality improvement practices Engage in daily team huddles and communicate necessary information Complete continual job training processes Reconcile providers' laboratory results.Qualifications:
Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform duties as instructed. High school graduate. Specialized training with certification in phlebotomyJob Type:
