This role assists faculty and students with laboratory setup, demonstrations, learning activities, and testing while ensuring safety procedures are followed. The Lab Technician maintains instructional materials, and inventory, responds to information requests, coordinates equipment repairs and purchasing, provides basic computer troubleshooting for students, and works with internal staff as needed to support effective instruction. Essential Functions Laboratory Operations, Equipment, and Facility Support- 30% Prepare, monitor, maintain, and service laboratory equipment, instructional spaces, supplies, computers, and related resources; coordinate repairs and maintenance services as needed. Instructional and Faculty Support
- 20% Assist faculty with laboratory setup, demonstrations, learning activities, testing, and basic operational needs; assist in planning laboratory and instructional work assignments. Safety Monitoring and Compliance
- 15% Monitor laboratory environments and ensure adherence to safety procedures in the use of equipment, instructional spaces, and materials. Inventory, Purchasing, and Vendor Research
- 15% Maintain supplies inventory and storage areas; assist with purchasing and requisitioning processes; research equipment and supply information and pricing from vendors. Documentation, Records, and Customer Support
- 10% Prepare and maintain student paperwork, instructional documents, procedural records, and related documentation; receive and respond to information requests and inquiries. Technology Support and IT Coordination
- 10% Provide basic computer hardware and software troubleshooting for students and liaise with internal departments for additional support as needed Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of laboratory experience such as maintaining equipment, facility space, supplies or other resources used for laboratory purposes in the area of assignment.
