A Laboratory Analyst performs tasks in a laboratory such as conducting tests and analyzing the results, maintaining work spaces and preparing experiments.

This role supports R&D, LVP and HVP.
Job Responsibilities:
Receiving, Labeling, safe storing, and handling of samples to be tested Recording tests and analysis and then reporting the results Discussing and answering any questions regarding the results Maintain organization and inventory of testing supplies, tools, and reagents. Utilize and maintain good laboratory practices (GLP) Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other equipment to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample Maintain laboratory equipment as needed for proper functionality and conformance, including regular calibrations and verifications. Staying current on technical and scientific advances in the field Perform testing such as particle distribution, moisture analysis, viscosity, organoleptic, solids measurements, on incoming materials, intermediate products, and finished products. Review the SOP, SDSs Report data and compile information into visual data Help with related administrative tasks when needed Monitor ongoing tests and experiments, recording, interpreting, and presenting any differences Maintain formulation / ingredient database.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A.S. or B.S. in chemistry, biology, microbiology, food science, or similar field of science, or some post-secondary education in science with 2 years of laboratory and/or quality control experience required. Experience (1-2 years) with good laboratory practices (GLP) required. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as web searches for technical information.

Strong problem-solving skills Strong positive mental attitude Strong attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic mechanical aptitude. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office applications. Working Conditions Work is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and powdered materials. Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
