Job Description

Description GoPath Laboratories is a physician-owned pathology and diagnostic laboratory specializing in cancer diagnosis and patient care. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable Laboratory Assistant to join our growing team in Scottsdale, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a science background who are interested in gaining hands-on laboratory experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Key Responsibilities Receive, accession, and process patient specimens Prepare samples for laboratory testing, including urine and body fluid specimens Assist Histotechnologists and laboratory staff with daily operations Label, organize, and distribute specimens to appropriate departments Scan, organize, archive, and retrieve pathology slides Operate and troubleshoot slide scanning equipment and software Perform image quality review and scanning quality control checks Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation Assist with embedding, filing slides, and other histology support functions Perform routine quality control procedures as directed Maintain laboratory cleanliness, equipment, and supplies Support additional laboratory projects and duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field preferred Previous laboratory, healthcare, pathology, or specimen processing experience preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality standards Willingness to learn laboratory procedures, equipment operation, and quality control processes If you are looking to start or advance your career in laboratory sciences and want to be part of a team committed to quality and innovation, we encourage you to apply today.
