Job Description
Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments, i.e. assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects, enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts. Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.
Additional Information:
This position is responsible for providing high‑quality care for mice utilized in a research program aimed to optimize immunotherapy of cancer. Duties include maintaining breeding colonies, weaning, microchipping, routine mouse handling, and daily health observations, as well as other animal care tasks as assigned. The individual must consistently follow established protocols in compliance with Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) guidelines. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking direction from multiple laboratory members. Previous hands-on experience with mouse handling is required. This is a limited tenure position that has been approved for one year that may have the possibility of extension or turning into a regular position. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship. extension program. Requires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting.
