Job Description

Sterile Pharmacy Technician Civic Center Pharmacy | Scottsdale, AZ Civic Center Pharmacy is looking for an experienced Sterile Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team in Scottsdale. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pharmacy that is expanding into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and continuing to build a high-quality sterile compounding operation. We are specifically seeking a technician with hands-on sterile compounding experience who is comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and understands the standards, precision, and accountability required in sterile pharmacy operations. In this role, you'll play a key part in preparing sterile medications, supporting day-to-day cleanroom workflow, and helping maintain the quality, safety, and compliance standards that are critical to patient care. What You'll Do Prepare and compound sterile medications, including IV admixtures, in accordance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards Support daily sterile compounding workflow, including printing formulas, preparing materials, and organizing products for pharmacist review Maintain accurate records, including Certificates of Analysis, invoices for controlled substances, lot numbers, and compounding documentation Receive APIs, excipients, bases, and supplies, and update inventory and lot information as needed Review and update formulas to ensure directions, supplies, storage, quality assurance steps, and appearance are current Perform proper garbing, hand hygiene, and sterile technique at all times Help maintain a clean, organized, and compliant cleanroom environment, including cleaning and environmental monitoring tasks Complete or oversee daily, weekly, and monthly USP-related tasks and documentation Support surface sampling, quality checks, media fills, and gloved fingertip testing in accordance with SOPs Coordinate tasks for lab support staff, including restocking, labeling, crimping, cleaning, testing, and preparing finished compounds for dispensing Assist with ordering sterile compounding supplies, ingredients, and materials from approved vendors Help train and support sterile compounding technicians and lab support staff on SOPs, workflows, and best practices Identify and escalate training gaps, process issues, or quality concerns to pharmacy leadership Prepare compounds for sterility, endotoxin, potency, or other analytical testing as needed Monitor inventory for expirations and help ensure the lab is appropriately stocked and organized
What We're Looking For Required:
prior hands-on sterile compounding experience in a pharmacy, cleanroom, or similar sterile compounding environment High school diploma or equivalent PTCB certification if required by the state of employment Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing if required by the state of employment Completion of 40 hours of independent sterile compounding training (didactic and hands-on) from a qualified vendor Strong understanding of sterile compounding practices, medical terminology, and pharmaceutical calculations Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance Dependable, organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset Why Join Civic Center Pharmacy?
