Role:
Consolidated Medical Bio-Analysis I is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accessioner to join our team in Cypress, CA. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in the clinical laboratory workflow, ensuring accurate and efficient specimen processing that directly impacts patient care.
Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, and process incoming laboratory specimens for testing and analysis Accurately label, log, and enter specimen data into the laboratory information system (LIS) Verify patient demographics and test orders for completeness and accuracy Prioritize STAT and routine specimens according to established protocols Centrifuge and aliquot specimens as required for various laboratory departments Identify and resolve specimen integrity issues, including hemolysis, quantity not sufficient (QNS), and mislabeling Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area following safety and OSHA guidelines
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or medical training preferred Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or medical setting is a plus Familiarity with specimen types, collection tubes, and basic laboratory procedures Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to stand for extended periods and handle biological specimens safely
