Job Description

Assistant Laboratory Technician Work up to 4 evenings per week, part-time (24-32 hours per week), as an Assistant Laboratory Technician for a food testing laboratory in Cypress, CA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, follows procedures carefully and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality results. This role is critical in supporting the lab's commitment to food safety and quality. Responsibilities include preparation of samples for analysis by weighing, homogenizing, and diluting as required. Perform basic housekeeping functions and maintain a clean, organized and sanitary laboratory workspace. Operate basic laboratory equipment safely and effectively. Document work accurately and notify supervisors of any sample issues, equipment concerns, or inventory shortages.
Requirements:
Reliable with excellent attendance Previous commercial laboratory or food service prep experience is preferred but not required Completed courses in microbiology, biological science, food science, or chemistry and/or Food Handler Certification is preferred but not required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. Clean background check—no criminal convictions Reliable transportation Must be willing to work hard and get the job done Must pay attention to detail and take pride in work completed Shift hours: 7 P.M. to 1:30 A.M. Weekdays and 1 P.M to 9:30 P. M. Weekends.
Pay Rate:
$18-$20 per hour
