This is a diverse, fast-paced role that spans the full range of our production and warehouse operations — from assembling AV control systems and building equipment racks, to receiving inventory and staging products for shipment. The right candidate is a quick learner who thrives in a varied environment, takes pride in the quality of their work, and is comfortable switching between technical assembly tasks and general warehouse duties as business needs evolve. No two days will look exactly the same, and we are looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity.
Responsibilities Product Assembly and Build:
Assemble a variety of JAM Labs products including AV control systems, enclosed electronics, and custom rack-based solutions, following work instructions and assembly drawings. Build and dress equipment racks, including mounting components, routing and securing cabling, and verifying proper fit and finish. Install and mount electronic components — including power supplies, controllers, relays, switches, and PCB assemblies — using precision hand tools. Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate cables and wiring harnesses to specified lengths and configurations. Perform soldering of terminals, connectors, and through-hole components, and apply heat-shrink insulation to connections as required. Route and dress wiring neatly using zip ties, grommets, and cable management hardware in accordance with assembly standards. Apply labels, foam seals, and other finishing materials per product specifications. Prepare and pack accessory kits and completed assemblies for shipment.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Perform functional and mechanical inspections on completed assemblies to verify all components are correctly installed, connectors are secure, and cables are properly routed. Conduct basic electrical safety checks and functional tests on assembled units, recording results in the appropriate production documentation. Identify and report any component defects, assembly discrepancies, or process deviations to the supervisor. Follow all assembly procedures and work instructions precisely, ensuring every unit meets JAM Labs quality standards before release. Adhere to ESD (electrostatic discharge) handling protocols and clean room practices when handling sensitive electronic components. Maintain complete and accurate production documentation at each stage of assembly, including traveler sign-offs and test records.
Inventory and Warehouse Operations:
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming shipments of components, equipment, and materials. Maintain accurate inventory records including serial number tracking for key assemblies and finished goods. Stage parts and materials in the production area ahead of build cycles, ensuring the work area remains clean, organized, and stocked. Coordinate with the operations and procurement teams to flag material shortages and support timely delivery of components. Package, label, and stage finished goods for shipment in accordance with shipping requirements. Support general warehouse duties as needed, including facility organization, stock rotation, and materials handling.
General Support:
Adapt readily to shifting priorities and take on a wide range of tasks as directed by supervisors and management. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and logistics teams to support production schedules and on-time delivery. Provide feedback on assembly processes and flag recurring issues to support continuous improvement efforts. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace at all times, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, electrical assembly, or a related field is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with electronic assembly, wiring, soldering, and crimping, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment. Comfortable using precision hand tools including hex drivers, Torx screwdrivers, nut drivers, crimping tools, and flush cutters. Proficient or willing to develop proficiency in soldering; experience with through-hole and terminal soldering is an asset. Ability to read and follow detailed assembly work instructions, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing procedures. Familiarity with AV, networking, or control systems equipment is an asset but not required. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work consistently. Highly adaptable and comfortable taking on a wide variety of tasks, from hands-on technical assembly to general warehouse duties. Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain an orderly work area, and meet production schedules. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and take direction effectively. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse and assembly operations. Forklift operator certification, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire preferred, but not required. Should be able to communicate effectively in English.
