Job Description Lab Chemist Technician 1484370 Hourly pay: $30/hr
Worksite:
Leading consumer products company (Pleasanton, CA 94588 - Onsite) W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL 40 hours/week, 5 Month Assignment A leading consumer products company seeks a Lab Chemist Technician . The successful candidate will collaborate with scientists and inter-functionally between groups. Daily responsibilities include product and material analysis, method development, and data analysis for a variety of products, and provide reports, identify issues, and recommend next steps based on experimentation. They will also have the opportunity to take on non-project-specific initiatives within the department to increase the knowledge base and functionality of the group as a whole.
Lab Chemist Technician Responsibilities:
Accurately follow assay and safety procedures and SOPs. Perform reliable sample preparation and analytical testing in the lab using various analytical chemistry techniques. Optimize sample preparation and analytical methodologies as needed. Operate related equipment and software under peak performance and safety conditions. Maintain equipment and software, upgrading and making purchase recommendations for new capabilities as necessary. Process and report analytical data using instrument software. Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint is preferred. Accurately and promptly instrument log data and lab activities in log or lab notebooks. Participate in general lab management for the wet chemistry lab, such as in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe lab environment/workspace, ordering supplies, maintaining or repairing instrumentation, performing calibrations, and keeping instrument and chemical inventory records.
Lab Chemist Technician Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience working in an analytical chemistry lab in a consumer goods, chemicals, crop protection, pharmaceutical company, or contract research organization. B.sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field. Experience in a regulated lab environment, GLP, GMP, and with EPA/FDA (preferred), GLP or GMP method validation and product characterization. Various wet chemistry techniques, including standard sample preparation methodologies such as accurate weighing, pipetting, centrifugation, dilution, extraction, drying, and characterization methodologies such as pH adjustment, titration, moisture content, extraction, or drying; expertise in the preparation and use of calibration standards and controls. Experience with spectroscopy techniques, such as UV/VIS or fluorescence instrumentation. Experience with chromatography instruments (LC, GC, IC), related detectors, software programs, and techniques for compound identification and quantitation. Experience with chemical and biochemical assay development, optimization, transfer, and validation. Experience in analyzing a variety of raw materials, process intermediates, and finished products in the following consumer goods industries is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis. Ability to summarize and report analytical results, perform trend analysis, and implement corrective action as needed. Experience in working collaboratively with multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, and in providing guidance/training for others on routine assignments.
Shift:
08:00 am to 05:00 pm. (Flexible working hours) The training will be performed by 2-3 internal resources and will be required to complete a chemistry course provided onsite by the company. Project work will begin upon completion of training. (H)
