Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will perform manufacturing and quality tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and/or Batch Records (BRs). Your role involves operating and maintaining various process equipment and ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Operate and maintain process equipment including automated liquid handling systems (Opentrons and Hamilton Star/Starlet), vacuum ovens and pumps, multi-channel pipettes, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, and pH and conductivity meters. Formulate reagents and buffers according to specifications. Assemble and package finished goods. Identify and escalate process-related issues as they arise. Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data; communicate findings and escalate issues to team leads, supervisors, or engineering teams as needed. Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and process work orders to ensure product availability. Troubleshoot manufacturing processes as required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and actively participate in 6S initiatives. Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to support R D and process improvement activities aligned with production goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager. Essential Skills Reagent preparation and buffer preparation. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team settings. Solid understanding of GDP, GLP, and cGMP requirements. Basic knowledge of equipment upkeep, calibration, and maintenance. Proficient computer skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and MES. Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, or a relevant field of study. 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in consumable manufacturing preferred. Hands-on experience with surface chemistry is a plus. Hands-on experience with automation is a plus. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing lab environment. The position requires comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic startup setting, working collaboratively with process development engineers. The lab environment follows strict safety and cleanliness standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
